Fall Leaf composting, "Dead Leaf Harvest"
Montview Farm Workday, Saturday November 17th 9-noon
is a procedure that turns autumn leaves into a usable soil ammendment by
early the next summer. We will layer leaves with soil and coffee grounds,
watering each layer. The leaves will be turned twice. In the end there
will be leaf mold, a valuable compost for gardens, orchards, or to be used
for starter for compost or future leaf piles
David Lovler: David can grow and compost anything. He is the
compostmeister for Pulpit Hill Cohousing and for the Somerville Urban
Gardens.
